The Philippines have been constantly hit by natural calamities in the past few months. On December 3, 2012, Typhoon Bopha, locally designated as Typhoon Pablo, made a landfall in the country and devastated the Mindanao area, largely affecting Compostella Valley and Davao Oriental among others. In lieu of organizing the usual Christmas party, the lab decided to hold a remote relief movement for the benefit of our brothers affected by Typhoon Pablo. On December 19, Doc Mudjie and the GFL lab rats rested their micropipettes for a while and dedicated the day to lend a hand to the residents affected by the said typhoon. The lab prepared bundles of basic food items for 100 families and clothes and donated them to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for their relief operations. In the spirit of giving and with the least help that the GFL could offer, we in the lab wish our brothers and sisters who were affected by Typhoon Pablo to be strong at these trying times.
