The PEER Project Partners organized the Microsatellite Data Analysis Workshop which was held at the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute on October 14 and 16, 2013. A total of 31 graduate students and research assistants from the five partner institutions participated in the workshop which tackled the basic concepts on DNA microsatellites, population genetics and connectivity, and the different approaches and methods in microsatellite data analysis among others. Dr. Rachel Ravago-Gotanco and Dr. Ma. Carmen Ablan-Lagman were the resource speakers of the said two-day workshop.
This NFRDI-counterpart workshop responds to the PEER training and outreach plan through capacity training and development of undergraduate and graduate students, academic staff, and research assistants and faculty of the participating institutions.
